Allie Buck, aka “Gato” creates an odd little world. In it, tiny people with giraffe necks peer from the frame. A man takes a lobster for a walk. A woman contemplates a freckle. These bright, almost childlike paintings with a sophisticated sensibility are painted on dresser drawers, two by fours and other found objects. Gato’s work intrigues and confuses, leaving the viewer wanting to know more.

Opening reception on Friday, October 9th 5-8p.m, in tart, room #107C of the Emerson Center, 111 S. Grand Ave., call 582-0416 for more information. The show will be on display from October 9th through November 11th.
