Accumulated Response: MFA Thesis Exhibition by Heather Bentz

The Helen E. Copeland Gallery invites everyone to celebrate the opening of Accumulated Response Friday, March 27th from 5-7 p.m. The opening reception with the artist is free and open to the public.

Heather Bentz

The exhibition, which runs from March 24th through March 29th, is the culmination of Heather Bentz’s Master of Fine Arts studies at Montana State University – Bozeman. Bentz’s work explores the intersections of found objects with human interactions with the environment that surrounds us. The artist’s inspiration is “bound to the similarities and differences that occur within repetition”. The artist continues: “In abstract painting, I have no plan or directions to follow and find my work through the process of working with my hands using specific materials. I respond with intuitive and informed decisions. As a result, the canvas is a record of the memory of my hand; history held in marks and layers of paint.”

The Helen E. Copeland Gallery is located on the second floor of Haynes Hall on the MSU-Bozeman campus. For more information or directions call Erin W. Anderson at 994-2562.
