Bowls, Mugs and Jugs: Bridger Alternative School Art Club Benefit Show

tart presents the results of a mentorship between members of MSU’s Ceramic Club and Bridger Alternative School’s Art Club. Instructor Kerry Corcoran and a group of college students work with interested high school students, teaching them how to hand build, use a potter’s wheel and glaze. The resulting show features an eclectic mix of earthy salt and soda fired pieces; dusky, iridescent raku fired pieces and brightly glazed, hand-built pieces made by both groups.

Proceeds from the sale of these pieces benefit a scholarship fund for economically challenged B.A.S. students to pursue further art education. Local businesses including the Leaf n’ Bean, International Coffee Traders, Olivera, Naked Noodle and 18 Miles to the Border have generously donated gift certificates for coffee, tea and meals which will accompany the purchase of each affordably priced bowl, mug or jug.

Opening reception on Friday April 11th 5-8pm during the Emerson Galleria’s Artwalk.
