Kevin Connolly’s Rolling Exhibition redux @ The Emerson and Exit Gallery

Thanks to an earlier post and later national coverage, Kevin Connolly is single-handedly responsible for about half the page views (through search engines like Google) at Art Bozeman, and most of the comments. He’s a remarkable person with a (literally) unique perspective, and I recommend the events mentioned below. You can preview his work at his Rolling Exhibition web site.

Here’s the press release from MSU:

A photo series by MSU student Kevin Connolly, “The Rolling Exhibition,” will be on display at the Emerson Theater in Bozeman at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 29. A lecture will be held at 7:30 p.m., followed by a short reception.

Connolly’s presentation will focus on the process of taking the photographs an what they mean within the context of storytelling, culture and photography.

Connolly, a senior in media and theater arts at MSU, is also a skier, photographer, world traveler and skateboarder. Born without legs, Connolly’s photo series captures the stares and stories he encounters while traveling the world by skateboard. Connolly has been featured by numerous media outlets, including The Montana Quarterly, ABC’s 20/20, Good Morning America, The Christian Science Monitor, National Public Radio, Australian Public Radio, Yahoo! News, and BBC Brazil.

Sponsors include MSU’s Office of Student Activities and ASMSU Lively Arts and Lectures. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, call 994-3591.

“The Rolling Exhibition” will also be featured in The Exit Gallery on the MSU campus April 28-May 2. A reception with Connolly is set for 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 30.

For more information about the exhibit, hosted by ASMSU’s Arts and Exhibits, call 994-3591.
