The Museum of the Rockies presents an exhibition of 27 large-format landscapes representing a selection of Salvatore Vasapolli‘s best photographic work produced during his many years photographing in Montana and Wyoming. His recently published large-format tabletop book Montana, with text written by Montana’s former congressman, Pat Williams (Graphic Arts Center Publishing Company) has won World International Awards as well as the 2004 Sappi Gold Medal for top photographic book in North America. Vasapolli’s artwork hangs in many private collections and corporate offices from New York to California.
“Salvatore Vasapolli’s photographs of the Northern Rockies Region of Montana and Wyoming are among the finest expressions of the color landscape being done today. His intuitive sense for the quality of light and color are combined with a strong formalist style to create images of the land that range from the intimate to the dramatic.”
~Steven B. Jackson, Curator of Art and Photography, Museum of the Rockies
Vasapolli’s photographs will be on display in the Loft Gallery October 11 – January 4. A members-only preview will be on Friday, October 10, from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
