The Helen E. Copeland Gallery invites everyone to celebrate the opening of the exhibition “MSU Semester in Italy 2008” Thursday, October 30th from 5-7 p.m. The opening reception with the artists is free and open to the public.
The exhibition, which runs from October 27th – November 7th showcases works by Montana State University students who spent Spring 2008 studying art and art history in Italy. Instructed by MSU professors Harold Schlotzhauer and Harvey Hamburgh, the students traveled extensively throughout the country and also spent several weeks creating art while staying at an Umbrian villa. This exposure to Italian culture and life influenced the students greatly. The exhibition includes works that were created in Italy and also later works that were influenced by their Italian studies.
The Helen E. Copeland Gallery is located on the second floor of Haynes Hall on the MSU-Bozeman campus. Haynes Hall is on 11th Avenue near the duck pond. For more information, please call Erin W. Anderson at 994-2562.
