A truly native Montanan, Rose Caplette brings an instinctive gift for dynamic color combinations to her rugs, hand-crocheted from recycled fabrics. Maybe somewhere in her DNA, female ancestors from her Crow Indian heritage help her out: Crow beadwork uses vibrant juxtapositions of color for dramatic designs. Maybe being “other-abled”–Rose is an adult with Down’s Syndrome–gives her the ability to be intuitive in her work. Either way her rugs are the inspired, vivid one-of-a-kind creations of a unique young lady.
