Call for art: Sweet Pea Juried and Open Art Shows

The Bozeman Public Library is the featured venue for the Sweet Pea Festival‘s Juried and Open Art Shows. Both shows will be displayed in the Library’s Atrium Gallery between Thursday, August 6th and Wednesday, August 26th. All artists and the public are invited to the shows’ opening reception on Thursday, August 6th between 6 and 8 p.m. in the Library’s Large Community Room.

The Juried & Open Art Shows are open to all artists. However, artists may only enter one piece of work. In an effort to allow greater participation in the shows, hanging artwork shall not exceed the size of 3 feet x 4 feet. Only original artwork designed and executed within the last two years, and not previously shown in past juried shows, is eligible for the Juried Show participation. The Open Show is a non-juried and non-competitive exhibition. Artwork in any medium is acceptable, but acceptance is also conditional upon examination for extreme fragility or size. Please keep in mind that artwork will be located in an area heavily frequented by the public. Artwork also must be finished and ready for professional hanging. If artwork requires special handling, it must be accompanied by the artist’s written instructions. All artwork must remain on display for the duration of the exhibition.

Deadlines are July 31 for hand-delivered art works, and July 29 for arrival of shipped artworks. More information is available on the Sweet Pea web site.
