“tilt”: altered monotypes by Kerry Corcoran @ tart

Using trees as a foundation, Bozeman artist Kerry Corcoran prints, paints, draws and collages layers of texture, pattern and calligraphic characters to create writhing, animated pieces that “tilt” a bit off center.  Drawn to the imperfection of old, gnarled trees and the history they contain, Corcoran creates richly textural pieces that draw the viewer into a maze of visual narrative.

Opening reception on Friday, August 14th 5-8p.m, in tart, room #107C of the Emerson Center, 111 S. Grand Ave.,  call 582-0416 for more information.  The show will be on display from August 14th through September 9th.
