The Convive exhibit opens in the Weaver Room at The Emerson during Art Walk this Friday, May 14th, 5-8 pm. Convive features recent works by artists that have not shown in the Weaver Room, Wilber Gallery or Emerson Lobby before this. “Convive” means “to feast together” which describes the spirit of this show.
Artists of Gallatin and Park counties competed in this juried group show. Out of 125 submissions, 62 pieces were selected to be in the show. The jurors were artists April Hale, Kris Keller and Beth Pfaff a panel from the Emerson’s Exhibits and Education Committee.
The show includes ceramics by Vanessa Rogers and Keith Gilyard, jewelry by Erin Swietnicki, photography by Larry Blackwood, paintings by Mary Keefer, book arts by MSU graphic design students, fiber art by Katy Kellogg Nygard, and numerous other diverse works.
