The Emerson is proud to present a new, contemporary space in the Emerson. The mission of the [the art project] is to provide a venue for primarily emerging artists in the region while providing affordable, contemporary art to the community in a fresh, exciting atmosphere. The grand opening will be Friday, June 11, 5-8pm, in #110 Emerson Galleria Hall.
John Parker, a photographer in Bozeman and local Montanan will be exhibiting his work from the last few years with images taken in Belize, Germany, Arizona, and here in Bozeman. In it there is a range of contrasts from small insects to enormous mountain ranges, action settings opposite to tranquil scenery, as well as lush, vibrant colors along with two-toned images that seem to indicate foreboding experiences. He finds the surreal in the landscapes and situations around and combines man-made and natural objects that compliment each other unintentionally. Composition is generally straightforward, and if needed, post processing allows to emphasize his vision in a given moment and create new and unconventional perspectives.
