Bozeman artist Cherlyn Wilcox takes a playful approach to a new series of silkscreened, painted and collaged works with a charmingly childlike simplicity. An abstract painter raised in Hawaii and Montana, Wilcox continues to draw her inspiration from nature but takes a more figurative route in this series of ocean inspired images. Blending the nostalgic and domestic with the watery world of the sea, Wilcox’s jellyfish, seashells, coral and other sealife float in an ocean of decorative fabrics and wallpapers.
A portion of the proceeds from this show will be donated to Haven, supporting survivors of domestic violence.
