One Book – One Bozeman: call for photographs

The Bozeman Public Library Foundation invites you to submit photographs to be part of the 2011 One Book – One Bozeman (OBOB) community art exhibit. The intention of this exhibit is to gather a collection of community photographs inspired by the 2011 OBOB book selection, Between a Rock and a Hard Place by Aron Ralston.

“Living Your Passion” is the theme of 2011 OBOB community art exhibit. Artists are encouraged to ponder this theme and submit photos that embody the essence of their passion, whether that is nature, music, or athletics. During the month of September, the Atrium Gallery will showcase photographs from local professional, amateur, and student artists. The Library Foundation will host an opening breakfast reception on September 8th. Author Aron Ralston will join the community to celebrate the opening week of the exhibit and will be signing books for the public.

The Library Foundation is committed to creating an exhibit that will expand the public’s appreciation of art as well as reflect the diversity of the community. The Selection Committee, consisting of local artists, community members, Library Foundation staff, and photography educators, will review and choose the images for the exhibit. This committee will also award best of show and honorable mention for the following categories: professional, amateur, and student.
