Bozeman As We See It: Work by Adair Peck and Paul Heaston

This September, tart will show the work of two artists rendering their own unique takes on Montana classics.

Adair Peck presents life size papier mache dogs and trophy heads.  Adept at capturing gesture and form, Adair raises a common childhood art material to a new level with the addition of intricate japanese papers and humorous take on a Montana game room classic, the trophy head.  Part caricature and part tribute, these animals charm and compel.

Working on a much smaller scale, Paul Heaston has spent the last year sketching each of block of Bozeman’s Main St. in small moleskine notebook.  The sketches are then scanned and digitally printed, resulting in an astonishingly detailed record of the buildings of Main St., brick by  brick, block by block.  The show includes a sketch of the block damaged in the natural gas explosion in March of this year.  A portion of the proceeds from the sale of these prints will be donated to the Downtown Relief Fund.

Opening reception on Friday, September 11th 5-8p.m, in tart, room #107C of the Emerson Center, 111 S. Grand Ave.,  call 582-0416 for more information.  The show will be on display from September 11th through October 8th.
