The Robert and Gennie DeWeese Gallery at Bozeman High School presents:
COMMIX: FORM & SURFACE
A showcase of excellent craftsmanship
Drawing on an association of friends and colleagues this show brings together ceramic artists affiliated with the Archie Bray Foundation in Helena and the Emerson Cultural Center in Bozeman. Ryan Mitchell, Tara Wilson, Kenyon Hansen, Emily Free Wilson, Jana Evans, and Courtney Murphy are concerned with variations in form and surface that range from detailed surface patterns to wood fired vessels and abstract forms.
The show opens Tuesday March 22nd and a reception will be held Wednesday evening March 30th from 7-9 pm. The work will be on display until April 15th. The gallery is open to the public from 9:00am to 3:30pm daily.

The Robert and Gennie DeWeese Gallery at Bozeman High School is featuring Continuum, a show of recent works by current MSU School of Fine Arts graduate students. A range of diverse media will be exhibited including, paintings, prints, multimedia, sculpture and ceramic vessels. The work will be on exhibition November 15th thru December 21st. A reception will be held for the artist’s December 2nd from 5-7pm. The gallery is open to the public Monday through Friday 9:00am to 3:30pm. Enter through the main entrance to the new high school addition, 205 N.11th.

Former Bozeman High School art students are participating in Redux, a collaborative fine art photography show on display in the DeWeese Gallery at the school. Showing work are Robyn Schmidt, Carly Coppenhagen, Cale Hofferber, CJ Carter, and Maggie Mateskon. An opening reception will be held 7-9 pm, Thursday, April 1.
Artist Willem Volkersz will exhibit his traveling exhibition In Memorium at the Bozeman High School art gallery. Volkerz with present a talk at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 28.
This show commemorates elementary classmates lost to the Holocaust during his childhood in Holland. It was created to travel from gallery to gallery, each installation unique because of input from the students or gallery directors who assist and according to the gallery space. The exhibit opened in the Montana State University’s Exit Gallery and after the BHS show, will travel to University of Montana in Missoula in the spring.
In the installation, each suitcase represents a student who was lost. As the show travels it creates a poignant reminder of history and the terrible uncertainty the students felt as they were removed and relocated to concentration camps. See a previous announcement for more information.
The Robert and Gennie DeWeese Gallery at Bozeman High School presents a Montana State University Metals and Scupture Invitational to show at the gallery November 10 through December 19. An artists’ reception is scheduled for 6 to 8 pm Wednesday, November 19.
Use the Main Street entrance to the high school. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.
The Bozeman High School Art Club will be presenting a paired exhibit of recent paintings by Ralph Wiegman and Heather Bentz at the DeWeese Gallery at BHS (205 N. 11th Street) . The show will be on view March 17 – April 18; gallery hours are 8:30 – 3:30 Monday – Friday. An opening reception will be held Thursday, April 3, from 6-8 p.m.
