Artists Dede Christman and Geri Ward will be displaying new work during the month of August at the Artists’ Gallery in The Emerson.
Dede Christman has been exploring new shapes in earthenware clay with glazes reminiscent of the Yellowstone geyser colors. She has also created ‘totem like’ sculptures and abstract ‘beings’ in ceramic. To complement her pottery, Christman will be displaying her abstract, mixed media paintings with added papers to enhance their texture and color.
Although usually recognized for her whimsical and imaginative watercolors, Geri Ward is equally adept at rendering realistic scenes, especially of ducks and geese. Ward’s current exhibit is a brief return to nature and wildlife painting.
Come to the Artists’ Gallery in the Emerson Center, to meet the artists at a wine and cheese reception on the evening of Friday, August 12th from 5-8 p.m., during Bozeman’s Downtown Art Walk.
The Artists’ Gallery in the Emerson will be featuring shimmering watercolors by Geri Ward, fine oil paintings by Linda Williams, and new pottery by George Dunbar during the month of November. We invite you to meet the artists at a wine and cheese reception on the evening of Friday, November 12th from 5-8 p.m., during the Emerson Galleria Art Walk.
Geri Ward will be displaying new watercolor paintings that are soft, luminous and glowing, guaranteed to evoke mystery and whimsy.
Linda Williams, who graduated Phi Kappa Phi from MSU in 2000 with a BFA in studio art, receiving the Strand Award, will be presenting her latest paintings. She recently ventured into oils after being a watercolor painter for many years.
After thirty-seven years of wedging, throwing, trimming, glazing, and firing, George Dunbar has mastered the art of creating beautiful functional pottery. His newest works will be on display and available for sale throughout the month of November.
The Artists’ Gallery at the Emerson invites the public to a reception for artists Geri Ward and Anne Danahy, to be held on Friday, September 11 from 5 to 8 PM. Their works will be on display from August 31 through September 26.
Geri Ward will be presenting new works in a show entitled “Star Stuff”, a collection of amorphous outer space water-media work, representational, but without absolute literalness or realism. Geri has been painting in Bozeman for 35 years, and has worked as a gallery attendant in a variety of galleries. She has exhibited in Bozeman, the U.S.A. and abroad.
Anne Danahy, a local watercolorist and oil painter, will be featuring Poultry Portraits of proud roosters, humble hens and delighted children holding their feathered friends with affectionate comfort and mutual trust. Whether fantastically feathered or commonly plumed, Anne’s Poultry Portraits look as good inside as the real birds do in the yard. Bring one home today!
An opening artists’ reception for Something Fishy’s Going On, featuring Geri Ward‘s watercolors, and Gerri Carlson‘s works in collaboration with fly tier & author Sylvester Nemes, will be held Friday, May 9, 5-8 pm. The exhibit remains up through May 31.
