Jim Henry Photographs @ the Emerson

The Emerson is pleased to present Jim Henry’s stunning digital photographs “Downtown Chicago: Selections from the Urban Landscape.”  The Weaver Room show will be on display from May 30 – August 31, with an opening on Bozeman’s Art Walk night, Friday June 12th, 5 – 8 pm.

According to Jim Henry, “The images of this exhibit are primarily abstract, showing geometry, patterns, and color.  People, where they do appear, are part of the urban landscape; where they do not appear, they are nonetheless implicit in this landscape of structures, shapes, and reflections. These photographs are my attempt to isolate, record, and present selected aspects of this beauty.”

Jim Henry is Assistant Chair and Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Northern Illinois University, in DeKalb, Illinois.  He has been photographing urban, rural, and wilderness landscapes for over 40 years. He spends some time each summer enjoying the Gallatin Valley’s less urban landscape.
