ASMSU Campus Entertainment presents: Satori by Krista Busacker, an exhibit based on line and its transformation from conception to execution. The exhibit will be showing in the Exit Gallery October 18th-29th. There will be a free public artist reception Wednesday, October 20th from 5pm to 7pm.
Krista received her Bacheolor of Fine Arts in Painting and Printmaking from Northwest Missouri State University in 2008 and is currently working on receiving her Masters of Fine Arts in Painting here at Montana State University. In 2007 Krista had the opportunity to study abroad in Belgium while taking classes in Painting and Lithography. She has been shown in numerous exhibits in Missouri, Montana and Tennessee and has also had the opportunity to show her work in Belgium while abroad.
Satori is an exhibit showing the “line located at the threshold of its transformation from conception to execution and conveys all the sensitivity of the hand and body from which it came.” The works become a tool of understanding, as the use of recognizable material, along with elements of weight, rhythm, shadow and texture to allow for an act of immediacy. Her work factors in a modernists mentality, an attention to aesthetic and the idea that each piece is maintaining a direct experience of reality to the viewer. “Here there are no absolute certainties, but rather in its place, a probing innocence.”
The Exit Gallery is located in Strand Union Building room 212, Montana State University, Bozeman. Hours are Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm. See you there!
