Rural avant-garde @ Visions West

Visions West, for Bozeman’s first summer Artwalk on June 10th, 6-9pm, features the opening of Montana Rural Avant-Garde! Seven artists will share their work, highly reflective of the western landscape, but informed by a different perspective than typical Western art being produced today. Instead of bone-tired, nostalgic paintings of cowboys, highly realistic landscapes and wildlife paintings, these artists take their cue from modernist, expressionist, minimalist schools, combining modern techniques and influences with their own insights, emotions, and imaginations. This combination produces fresh, diverse work that stands out. The show will feature work by Arin Waddell, Ted Waddell, Kirsten Kainz, Ralph Wiegmann, Suzanne Truman, Brad Rude and Will Pope.
